On Tuesday 8th May 2007 Hebersham entered two teams into the Greg Alexander Shield, a 7-a-side competition for students in Year 5 and 6.

One of the teams made it through to the Grand Final where they played the day’s dominant team Emerton Public School. The boys took an early lead. The game was then a tough match that went from end-to-end with each team scoring and converting three tries each. The match ended up finishing 18-all and the boys were preparing themselves for extra-time when news came through that Hebersham were victorious due to scoring the first try (as per the official rules).
